Our Zoo - Stuffed Animal Storage

As a mom I learn new things every single day. One such learning is that a child's stuffed animals multiply at an exceptionally high rate and this rate is exponentially greater when a second child is added to the mix.

For awhile the animals were contained in an uninspiring laundry basket. Thanks to my handyman husband they now have a permanent, beautiful, and functional home.

The Handyman.

Jonas used flat sheets of wood and wood dowels to create the structure and his grade A router skills to create the Zoo sign. With a few coats of white cabinetry grade paint and some fun acrylics it is now on display.

I hope you feel inspired.

Make It Monday: Carseat Canopy and Diaper Strap

This is my latest carseat canopy and diaper strap design. I created this set for one of my dearest friends who is expecting a little girl very soon; can't wait! I love the simplicity of this design. I used burlap style fabric for the cover, satin ribbon for the ties, and a black fabric paint pen for the "sweet baby." embellishment.

There's a great tutorial on how to make a canopy like this one over at Oopsey Daisey.

You can check out my original Diaper Strap post for more information on this handy little invention.

Here are some photos of my previous carseat canopy and diaper strap designs:

I no longer have an Etsy site to sell my wares, but if you're interested in a custom made carseat canopy and/or diaper strap feel free to send me an email at modernmommycanada@gmail.com and I'll see what I can do.

Happy Monday!
